Hut was a location in the urban area of ​​the Bergisch city ​​of Wuppertal in the Wupperaue opposite Ochsenkamp . It was located at today's streets Moritzstrasse at the corner of Ernststrasse . The name hut no longer exists as an independent name for this location.

Location and description

The location is in the east of the Arrenberg residential area in the Elberfeld-West district at an altitude of 141  m above sea level. NHN . Already towards the end of the 19th century it was incorporated into the inner-city development of Wuppertal.

Neighboring locations in the 19th century were the core settlements of Arrenberg , Obere Steinbeck , Mittlere Steinbeck , Untere Steinbeck , Ochsenkamp , Am Brill and Aue .

history

Hut goes back to an early modern Kotten . On the Topographia Ducatus Montani by Erich Philipp Ploennies from 1715, the Kotten is listed as an inland hut . On the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 a place is recorded as In der Hütte , on the Prussian first survey of 1843 the place is named Hütte .

In 1815/16 the place had 46 inhabitants. In 1832 the place belonged to the Steinbeck and Arrenberger Rotte of the rural outskirts of the parish and the city of Elberfeld. The place, categorized as a yarn dyeing factory according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , was designated as an der Hütten and at that time had three residential buildings, a factory and two agricultural buildings. At that time, 46 people lived in the village, six were Catholic and 40 were Protestant.
