The Hüttenberger Reiftanz is a custom of the mining miners , which takes place every three years on the first Sunday after Pentecost , the Trinity Sunday or Trinity , in Hüttenberg in Carinthia . This last completely traditional men's chain dance in Central Europe is performed by the Hüttenberger miners and probably has its origins in the 15th century, the earliest documented mention dates back to 1608.

The main characters in addition to the 24 mature dancers are the mature dance bride as a symbol of spring and two foolish figures, "Hans Obermoar" and the "tail bearer". For the dance, three different melodies are played by the Hüttenberg mountain band, the first melody is repeated 108 times. Connected to the almost two-hour dance is the “Pritschen”, during which Hans Obermoar gives the festival guests three slaps each time - quite powerful to the audience's delight - as a good luck charm for the next three years.

The next Reiftanz will take place on June 12, 2022 in Hüttenberg.
