The Hüttenmeisterhaus is a listed building in the district of Silberhütte (Anhalt) in the Harz region, which belongs to the town of Harzgerode in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located in the Selketal , north of the Selke , at the western entrance to Silberhütte, at the address Hüttenplatz 1 on Landesstraße 234 to Straßberg . It is registered as a residential building in the local monument register.

Architecture and history

The building was erected in the middle of the 18th century as the home of the highest steelworker on site. Other data indicate the beginning of the 19th century. The two-storey building is covered by a hipped roof . In 1905, an entrance porch was placed in front of the building, which was given a balcony attachment and decorated with notch cuts . The original slate cladding was at least temporarily replaced by a cladding made of Eternit with the same appearance . The panel was removed at the beginning of the 21st century. In the literature, the building is called a half-timbered house .
