history
During the Second World War , Hōwa Kōgyō produced for the Japanese armaments industry. In addition to simple handguns, this included the famous Arisaka series. Many of the weapons produced at the time are now coveted collector's items.
At the beginning of the Cold War , Hōwa Kōgyō built copies of the American M1 Garand and the M1 Carbine for the Japanese Self Defense Forces :
- Howa type 64
- Howa type 89
- Armalite AR-18 (produced for Armalite )
- Howa type 96
Also in the early 1970s , Hōwa Kōgyō produced for ArmaLite , including the AR-18 and AR-180 5.56 mm assault rifles . ArmaLite then marketed the weapons to various international military forces.
In the present, Hōwa Kōgyō mainly produces weapons for civil use, e.g. B. Hunting rifles ( Howa M1500 ).
Other products
In addition to the weapons mentioned above, Howa also makes windows and doors , industrial tools, and construction vehicles.
