The H-Hotels AG (formerly Hospitality Alliance AG Germany ) is a hotel company with headquarters in the Hessian town of Bad Arolsen . With locations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, it is one of the largest hotel operators in the DA-CH region . The family-run group of companies with 2,500 employees and 9,600 rooms includes hotels of its own brands Hyperion, H4 Hotels, H2 Hotels, H + Hotels, H.ostels and H.omes. The hotels of the H-Hotels Group are centrally controlled by the Group's own service companies. The group is represented (as of October 2018) in a total of 50 different destinations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland with around 60 hotels. In addition to expansions in other metropolises in the DACH region, the presence in the non-German-speaking region has been announced for the first time with an H2 hotel in Budapest from spring 2020.

history

In 1969 Helmut Fitz laid the foundation stone for the company with the founding of Treff Hotels und Feriendörfer, which grew to 100 hotels under his management. In 2000, Helmut Fitz handed over the active management of the company to his son Alexander Fitz, and the Treff Hotel AG was renamed Hospitality Alliance AG Germany (HAAG). In order to put the hotel group on a firmer footing and open it to the international market, a cooperation agreement was signed with Ramada International (now owned by the Wyndham Hotel Group ) in the same year , which resulted in the group's hotels under the co-brands as Ramada-Treff hotels were run. In the years that followed, Hospitality Alliance AG acted as the exclusive development partner of the Wyndham Hotel Group in Germany for the RAMADA brand and its subbrands . This exclusivity was dissolved at the end of 2012 in favor of greater flexibility and the development of own brands.

H + Hotel in Salzburg

At the end of 2014, the name was changed to H-Hotels AG after all sales activities had been brought together under the central domain www.h-hotels.com in the middle of the year. At the same time, the own brands H4 and H + Hotels were introduced. At the beginning of 2017, with Hyperion and H.ostels, two further own brands were introduced in the premium and budget segment. In March of the same year, all Ramada Hotels belonging to the H-Hotels Group were rebranded to their own H brands.

Companies

With a turnover of 420 million euros and an occupancy rate of 71.7% in 2017, H-Hotels AG ranks fifth in the ranking of the top 50 German hotel operators in the Allgemeine Hotel- und Gastronomie-Zeitung.

Part of the HR concept is the company's own Hospitality Alliance Academy, founded in 2011, which bundles training and further education for employees. In the Young Star Academy, trainees are supported in training and coaching and prepared for the final exam. The Young Star Award is given to the best apprentices every year. The winners are determined in a competition among the trainees in the 2nd year of training who have qualified through a test.

The hotel group has been sponsoring the Bundesliga since 2011. Currently (as of October 2018) there are sponsorship agreements between H-Hotels AG and Borussia Dortmund, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Werder Bremen, VfL Wolfsburg, RB Leipzig and VFL Bochum. Since the 2017/2018 season, H-Hotels AG has also been the sleeve sponsor of Borussia Mönchengladbach and Werder Bremen.

Awards

In 2014, H-Hotels AG received the Hospitality HR Award from the German Hotel Academy (DHA) and First Class Magazin for its sustainable HR management . In the same year Sarah Sigloch was named HR Manager of the Year.

In August 2018, the H-Hotels Group with its umbrella brand H-Hotels.com was awarded the “Family-friendly company 2018” seal of approval in gold after a nationwide survey carried out by ServiceValue in cooperation with Welt am Sonntag and the Goethe University Frankfurt. Within the “Hotel Chains” category, H-Hotels.com was able to prevail against nine competitors and took first place.
