HIPHOP was a French television series that aired in 1984. It was the world's first program only on the subject of hip-hop ( rap and break dance ). The presentation was rapped. HIPHOP was the first television show in France to be presented by a black discussion leader.

43 episodes of the series were broadcast on channel TF1 from January to December 1984 . It was planned and directed by Sidney Duteil , who spread hip-hop culture in France. The producer was Marie-France Brière .

In addition to Sidney Duteil, the show received numerous guests, for example Sugarhill Gang , Kurtis Blow , Afrika Bambaataa , Herbie Hancock , The Breaks , The Tribe , The Art of Noise and Madonna . Regular guests were the Paris City Breakers and the graffiti sprayer Futura 2000 from New York.
