HP Maya

Heinz Peter Maya (born August 21, 1944 in Villach , Carinthia ; † February 22, 2012 ) was an Austrian artist .

Heinz Peter Maya attended the Federal Trade School in Graz , Department of Applied Arts, and the master class for painting with Rudolf Szyszkowitz . He spent study visits to Rome and Munich. Maya also traveled through Europe, Africa (Sahara) and the USA.

Maya worked for many years in the Carinthian Art Association. From 1986 he was responsible for the stage design of the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize for 24 years .

His works are in the possession of numerous museums and art collections such as the Albertina , Wolfgang Gurlitt Museum in Linz, Carinthian State Gallery and Museum Bochum .

HP Maya was posthumously awarded the City of Villach's Culture Prize in 2012.
