HAT-P-2b

HAT-P-2b is an extrasolar planet that orbits the yellow dwarf HAT-P-2 every 5,633 days . Due to its high mass , it is assumed that it is a gas planet .

discovery

The planet was discovered in 2007 by the HATNet Project using the transit method.

Circulation and mass

The planet orbits its star at a distance of approx. 0.0685 astronomical units and has a mass of approx. 2900 earth masses or 8.7 Jupiter masses. Its radius was measured to be 66,000 (± 6 percent) kilometers.
