HAT-P-5 is a spectral class G star that is approximately 1000 light years from Earth. It is orbited by an exoplanet called HAT-P-5b .

Exoplanet

HAT-P-5b was discovered during the HATNet Project in 2007 . It orbits the central star with a period of 2.79  days at a distance of approx. 0.04 astronomical units and has about the mass of Jupiter.
