history
The company was founded in 1949 by Karl Heilmeier and Wilhelm Weinlein in Munich as Heilmeier und Weinlein, Fabrik für Oelhydraulik GmbH & Co. KG . The names of the two company founders (initials Ha + We) were the inspiration for the company name HAWE . The first product was a radial piston pump with an operating pressure of up to 700 bar. In 1959, leak-free seat valves were launched, in 1968 proportional load-sensing slide valves and in 1998 in-house control electronics.
In 1999 InLine Hydraulik GmbH was taken over for the production of axial piston variable displacement pumps. After HAWE Hydraulik became the company name in 2002 , the company form GmbH & Co. KG was converted into SE (European stock corporation) in 2008 .
The company has been owner-managed since it was founded. There are currently 7 locations in Germany . In 2013 a new plant was built in Kaufbeuren , which opened in 2014 and employs around 600 people. HAWE Hydraulik 's products are sold worldwide through a sales network with 17 subsidiaries and sales partners in over 40 countries.
Together with the VDMA , HAWE is participating in a training center in Gaborone .
