HAZ fountain
The HAZ fountain in Hanover is a two-part fountain system donated by the Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung (HAZ, published by the Madsack publishing company ) on Ernst-August-Platz in front of the city's main train station .
history
After the main train station of the future city of the world exhibition had been rebuilt in the run-up to Expo 2000 , Ernst-August-Platz was subsequently redesigned as the “calling card of the city”. This included, among other things, the bypass laid in the new paving for buses and trams only, while the access to the station forecourt for other automobiles was essentially limited to two so-called “parking pockets” on the sides.
The HAZ fountain, which used to cost around DM 500,000 and has a total of 88 nozzles, has graced the capital of Lower Saxony since Expo 2000 . The single floor crescent-shaped fountain with its fan-equal and graduated high fountains contribute to the revitalization of the indented by large trees Ernst-August-Platz at which again applies since 2000 as a first calling card of the city and kicks off with an up to Georgsplatz reaching, urban sequence of rooms.
