The Hockey Club Olten is a hockey club from the Swiss municipality of Olten in the canton of Solothurn . In 1923 the old men 's section of the Olten Soccer Club founded a country hockey group. The first games were played on the Wilerfeld football field. Walter Trösch became the first president. On September 28, 1923, he was accepted into the Swiss Land Hockey Association, Swiss Hockey . The venue in the 1920s was the Spitalmatte in Trimbach, the old soccer field of FC Trimbach. In the 1929/30 season Olten was the first regional champion with a 2-1 win over Nordstern Basel. Due to disagreements over finances, the hockey players started their own business on August 23, 1930 as HC Olten.
