HD 149143 is a 200 light-years distant star of the spectral class G with a right ascension of 16 h  32 m  51 s and a declination of + 02 ° 05 ′ 05 ″. It has an apparent magnitude of 7.9 mag. In 2005, Da Silva et al. Using the radial velocity method, an extrasolar planet with the systematic name HD 149143 b , which orbits this star with an orbital period of 4.07 days. The companion is a Hot Jupiter and has a minimum mass of 1.3 Jupiter masses. The major semi-axis of its orbit corresponds to approx. 0.05  astronomical units .
