HES International BV (previously: Hestya Energy BV ) is a private oil processing, marketing, bulk handling and storage company based in Rotterdam , the Netherlands.
history
The company was founded in 2000. Before the name change as Hestya Energy BV , the company was represented on the market as PortQuay Bold I BV and later as AR Tank Storage BV .
Behind the company are the Riverstone / Carlyle Global Energy and Power Funds , which is supported by the investment companies Riverstone Holdings LLC and AtlasInvest. Riverstone has held the majority of shares in Petroplus Holdings AG , a major oil processing company , since 2005 .
Wilhelmshaven location
On August 10, 2011, the company announced that a contract had been signed with ConocoPhillips to take over the Wilhelmshaven oil refinery . The CEO of Hestya Energy announced shortly thereafter that due to the poor profit situation in the oil sector, a restart of the refinery was not planned for the time being. Hestya Energy's plans focus on further expanding the terminal .
The Wilhelmshaven subsidiary was renamed from Wilhelmshavener Raffinerie Gesellschaft mbH to HES Wilhelmshaven GmbH on January 4, 2016 .
