Lists on the subject

The HK45 is a pistol in .45 ACP caliber developed by the German company Heckler & Koch (HK) . The pistol was developed as part of the US Joint Combat Pistol program, in which a successor to the existing pistols of the US Army was sought. This program was discontinued in 2006.

Like the P30 , the HK45 is a further development of the USP series (universal self-loading pistol). However, while the HK P30 was developed for the European police market and the 9 × 19 mm caliber common there , the HK45 with the stronger caliber was developed as part of the US Army's Joint Combat Pistol program , which was discontinued in 2006. The HK45 has the same improvements, such as an adjustable, ergonomic handle and a thinner design, that were introduced with the P30.

It is available in a normal (HK45), a compact version (HK45C) and as the HK45 Compact Tactical. The latter version has a longer barrel with an external thread for mounting a silencer. It is only produced in the USA and is no longer offered by Heckler and Koch in Europe.

The trigger group has a modular structure and enables the options Double Action / Single Action (DA / SA), Double Action Only (DAO) and the LEM version ( L aw E nforcement M odification) from HK. The pistols are equipped with a Picatinny rail as standard .
