The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium , often abbreviated as HPCA Stadium , is a cricket stadium in the Indian city of Dharamsala in the state of Himachal Pradesh .
Infrastructure
The stadium was built in 2003 and is located at a height of 1,317 m and is surrounded by mountains of the Himalayas . It integrates the first cricket academy for women in India. The ends are called the River End and College End .
International cricket
The first international game was a tour match between the Pakistani national cricket team and an A selection from India in 2005. The first official One-Day International took place on January 27, 2013 between England and India .
The HPCA Stadium was one of seven stadiums of the ICC World Twenty20 2016 and the venue for seven games of the tournament. For the world championship tournament, the venue was expanded with 2,200 new seats and now has space for 21,000 visitors.
National cricket
The stadium serves as the home of the Himachal Pradesh state team in both the Ranji Trophy and other national competitions. It is also used for some home games of the Kings XI Punjab franchise in the Indian Premier League .
