HSV Maloo

The HSV Maloo is a high-performance pickup truck that Holden Special Vehicles has been manufacturing in Australia since October 1990. The Maloo is based on the high- volume model Holden Ute , but is equipped with high-performance engines and tuned bodies. With a top speed of 271 km / h, the Maloo R8 is currently the fastest production pickup in the world. It beats the previous record holder Dodge RAM SRT-10 by 22.657 km / h.
Models
The HSV Maloo models manufactured so far are:
VG
The first HSV Maloo was the VG series introduced in October 1990, which was based on the Holden VG utility. It was powered by a 5.0 liter V8 engine.
VP
The revised VP Maloo was introduced in 1992.
VR
The VR series came out in October 1993.
VS
The revised VR Maloo was offered from May 1995.
VU
The significantly revised HSV VU Maloo was introduced in March 2001. The VU had the same 5.7 liter V8 engine as the VX Clubsport, which developed 255 kW (347 bhp). The VU Maloo was also available with R8 equipment, high-performance brakes, 18 "alloy wheels (the normal Maloo had 17") and a sporty chassis.

The revised Y-series came out in October 2002. The original VY Maloo still had the VU's 5.7 liter V8 GM-LS1, but the output rose to 260 kW (354 bhp). In the Series II, the output increased to 285 kW (388 bhp).
VZ
The Z-series was introduced in October 2004 and was the first to have a 6.0-liter V8 engine.

The E-Series was released in October 2007, exclusively as the Maloo R8. It is Australia's most powerful pickup with the 6.0 l V8 engine GM-LS2 from the Chevrolet Corvette with 307 kW of power and 550 Nm of torque. Later the output even increased to 317 kW. The VE Maloo is equipped with an electronic stability control for the chassis.
