The HSV W427 is a high-performance sedan based on the Holden VE Commodore and the limited edition flagship of its manufacturer Holden Special Vehicles in Australia since 2008 . The car was brought out for the 20th company anniversary of HSV.

The W427 is based on the GTS , but has the 7.0 l V8 of the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 instead of the 6.2 l V8 engine . This delivers an output of 502 bhp (375 kW) at 7000 min −1 and accelerates the car from 0–100 km / h in 4.7 seconds. This makes the W427 the most powerful and fastest car ever built in Australia. It has a harder than the GTS tuned MagneRide chassis (electrically adjustable) and a reinforced manual six-speed gearbox, a new exhaust system and stronger six-piston brakes.

The name W427 is a combination of different elements. W is a throwback to the founder of HSV, Tom Walkinshaw . 427 is simply the displacement in cubic inches (= 6997 cm³), but is also reminiscent of the HRT 427C , a model that also had a 7.0 liter V8 engine but never went into series production.

The first concept vehicle of the W427 was produced in the same color as the first HSV model, the Holden VL Commodore SS Group A SV .

Since August 2008 the W427 has been sold for AU- $ 155,500. A total of only 200 vehicles will be built and will only be sold in Australia and New Zealand; a car stays with the manufacturer.
