The handball club Vallendar e. V. is a German sports club from the Rhineland-Palatinate town of Vallendar , the seat of the Vallendar community . The club is known nationwide for its first men's handball team, which played in the 3rd handball league in the 2010/2011 season . Currently the 1st team plays in the Oberliga RPS (Rhineland, Rheinhessen, Pfalz and Saarland), the young 2nd team plays in the Association League Staffel Ost of the handball association Rhineland.
History of origin
The club emerged from the handball department of TV Vallendar, which was founded shortly after the Second World War . A first spin-off from the main club was attempted as early as 2007 when the department merged with that of SV Urmitz to form a gaming community - the UVS Rheintal. However, this project failed just two years after it came into being, both because of goals that were not achieved, ie the promotion from the top division to the regional division failed, and because of financial problems. So the Vallendar handball players were again integrated into TV Vallendar and the Urmitzer into their home club, SV Urmitz. After another year, the spin-off was taken up again by the actual parent club TV Vallendar and the handball department split into HV Vallendar e. V. from.
Rivalries
The "Vallerer" handball players have a great rivalry with their neighbors, ie the Turnerschaft Bendorf 1861/1890 e. V., the TV 05 Mülheim, the HSG Römerwall and the Turnverein 1891 Moselweiß e. V. In the men's area there were and are therefore always heated duels, which are also fought out in games of the youth or reserve teams. These "derbies" are characterized above all by their degree of difficulty and their passion for handball.

Youth work
Since the 2014/2015 season, the HV Vallendar and the Bendorf gymnastics club have merged to form the JSG Bendorf / Vallendar in the youth sector. All youth teams have at least two members. The aim of this association is to be able to give all handball-enthusiastic youngsters game practice in different performance areas.
