HaDerech HaSchlischit

HaDerech HaSchlischit ( Hebrew הדרך השלישית, the third way ) was a political party in Israel. The party was founded on March 7, 1996 when Avigdor Kahalani and Emanuel Zisman left the Avoda . They were protesting against the proposal to withdraw from the Golan Heights , which had been occupied since the Six Day War , in order to achieve peace with Syria in return . In the 1996 elections it received 96,457 votes, giving it four seats. She participated in the ruling coalition, with Kahalani becoming Minister of Homeland Security. In the 1999 elections, the party received only 26,290 votes (0.7%) and thus remained below the 1.5% required for entry into the Knesset.
