Avigdor Kahalani ( Hebrew אביגדור קהלני, Born June 16, 1944 in Nes Ziona ) is a former Israeli politician and brigadier general . He bears the honorary title of Tat aluf ( Hebrew תת-אלוף), lit. “ Unteraluf ”.

Life

Kahalani graduated from Tel Aviv University , where he earned a bachelor's degree in history. He then moved to the University of Haifa , where he received a master's degree in political science . As a member of the HaDerech HaSchlischit party , he was Minister for Public Security from June 18, 1996 to July 6, 1999 .

In 1977 he received the Yitzhak Sadeh Prize .
