Habibu Ceesay

Habibu Ceesay (* 1980 or 1981 in Panchang ; † November 22, 2008 ) was a Gambian journalist .

Life

Ceesay first went to Panchang Primary School and then to Kaur High School before he attended Armitage Senior Secondary School , where he graduated in 2002. He completed a number of journalism training courses over the years that improved his ability to report on factual information at any time.

Ceesay began his journalistic work at The Independent , moved to the Daily Observer and then returned to The Independent . When The Independent closed in early 2006, Ceesay then moved to The Point newspaper , where he worked for some time before moving to Today . After a few months with Today , he moved to Business Digest , where he worked until his death.

Ceesay died in 2008 after a short illness at the age of 27. Nfamara Jawneh, President of the Young Journalists Association of The Gambia (YJAG), of which Habibu Ceesay was a member, described Ceesay's death as a great loss for the entire media community in Gambia.

Hassoum Ceesay is the older brother of Habibu Ceesay.
