Hadrawi
Hadrawi ( actually Mohamed Ibrahim Warsame , Somali Maxamed Ibraahim Warsame ( Hadraawi ), Arabic محمد ابراهيم وارسام هدراوى, * 1943 in Burao , British Somaliland ) is a Somali author and activist. He belongs to the Isaaq clan .
Life
He was born into a poor family. In 1953 he moved to Aden , Yemen . There he went to school and became a teacher. After Somalia gained independence, he moved to Mogadiscio . There he worked for Radio Mogadiscio, for the Ministry of Information and for the University of Lafoole .
During the military regime he was imprisoned for his publications (1973–1978). After his release he was a member of the Somali National Movement and from 1991 to 1999 he lived in Great Britain .
