The Hafei Lobo is a small car from the Chinese car manufacturer Hafei . The word "Lobo" means "treasure on the street".

features

The body of the model presented at the Beijing Motor Show 2002 was designed by Pininfarina . The direction indicators in the A-pillar and the relatively high-positioned, triangular taillights are striking. Lotus was involved in fine-tuning the vehicle handling . As part of a facelift in 2007, the front and rear sections were slightly modified.

The Lobo was offered with petrol engines with a displacement of 1.0 to 1.3 liters. The front wheels were driven by a manual or automatic transmission.

The manufacturing quality of the interior was criticized as "unrefined".

safety

In a crash test of the C-NCAP , the Lobo only achieved two stars. It was - at least in South Africa - neither equipped with ABS nor with airbags.

production

Originally an annual production of 100,000 units was planned. A total of 223,817 vehicles of this model were sold in China between 2003 and 2015, with the numbers falling sharply after 2010. The model was exported to numerous countries. In Russia the Lobo was sold as Hafei Brio . The model was not available in Germany.

In Malaysia the vehicle was produced by Naza as Naza Sutera (which was also sold in Thailand under the name Naza Forza ). In Sri Lanka, the Lobo was manufactured by Micro Cars from 2005 with a 1.0-liter engine as Micro Trend .
