Port of Šventoji ( Lithuanian Šventosios valstybinis jūrų uostas ) is a state seaport in the western Lithuanian town of Šventoji on the Baltic Sea , 35 km north of the port city of Klaipėda . The founder of the port is the Republic of Lithuania . The Klaipėda Port Administration and the Klaipėda City Administration are responsible for port development .
history
In 2008 the preparatory measures and preliminary project work ended. In 2009 a study was carried out on the port's development possibilities, in 2010 the building site was mapped and archaeological research was carried out. The planning was completed in 2011 and the implementation of the technical project began. The port of Klaipėda invested 1.1 million euros at the time.
In 2011 the port was opened in the meantime. After the grand opening, 40 yachts and two Coast Guard inflatables arrived. The first foreign guests came with the Polish yacht from the port of Gdynia . A total of 72 ships with a length of up to 12 meters can be received at the same time. A total of around 3 million euros was invested in the port. LTL.
It is estimated that the construction of the whole infrastructure (piers, quays) will cost about 200 million litas. Most of the funds are from the funds of the European Union. The new start of construction is scheduled for spring 2015. The port is planned to be fully built by 2019.
