Langeoog harbor
The port of Langeoog is the seaport of the North Sea island of Langeoog .
history
During the Second World War, the Langeoog harbor was expanded into a naval base . Since then, the port area has a circumference of 2.7 kilometers.
Todays use
The Langeooger Hafen is today the most important traffic link between the island and the mainland. It can be reached regardless of the tide . There are regular ferry connections between the Sielhafen Bensersiel and the harbor, which are operated by the shipping company of the island community of Langeoog . The Langeoog harbor is connected to the main town on Langeoog by the Langeoog island railway . Accordingly, the central element of the port is the ferry terminal for island shipping. There is also a loading ramp for the cargo ships Onkel Otto and Pionier and a marina operated by the sailing club Langeoog eV . The sea rescue boat of the DGzRS Secretarius ( 9.5 / 10.1 meter class ) is also stationed in the port .
