The port of Spiekeroog is the seaport of the North Sea island of Spiekeroog .

history

Until 1981 Spiekeroog had no port. Instead, there was a pier at the west end of the island where ferry and cargo ships moored. The pier was connected to the place by the Spiekeroog island railway. Due to the dilapidation and need for renovation of the jetty and the island railway, it was decided to build a local port. For this purpose, an approximately one nautical mile long fairway was dredged through the mudflats.

The Spiekeroog harbor as seen from the helipad

The Spiekerooger Hafen is a tide-dependent port with 250 meters of quay and ramp for landing craft or ships with loading ramps. There is a handling building at the port. The port of Spiekeroog is the only area on the island where, apart from rescue and construction vehicles, motor vehicles are allowed to drive.

The Spiekeroog II ferry is berthed on the northern quay wall. The Spiekeroog helicopter landing pad is also in the immediate vicinity of the harbor.

From 2015 to 2017 the former passenger ship Spiekeroog III was a restaurant ship on a floating dock in front of the northern quay wall.
