Wolfgang Hahn-Cremer

Wolfgang Hahn-Cremer , (born September 23, 1948 in Lengerich ; † March 4, 2006 in Bochum ) was a German media advisor and politician and, for a long time, chairman of the state media commission in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Hahn-Cremer graduated from high school in Ibbenbüren in 1969 and then studied theology and law. From 1983 to 1985 he was Juso state chairman in North Rhine-Westphalia, from 1985 to 1992 a member of the state's SPD state board and from 1987 to 2005 a member of the NRW media commission, which he chaired from 1999. He also held the post of managing director of LfM Nova GmbH from December 2005 until his death.

Until December 2005, Hahn-Cremer was also chairman of the supervisory board of the Filmstiftung NRW and until his death chairman of the supervisory board of the European Center for Media Competence (ecmc) and of the Citizens Media Education Center.

Wolfgang Hahn-Cremer died on March 4, 2006 in Bochum.

Private radio

In North Rhine-Westphalia, Wolfgang Hahn-Cremer is considered to be the father of private radio and the two-pillar model . The establishment of citizens' radio as a special North Rhine-Westphalian form of the open canal can also be largely traced back to his initiative.
