Hahn Island is an island 1.5 km off the Scott coast of East Antarctic Victoria Land . It is located 11 km north of Mount Discovery on the east side of the Koettlitz Glacier .
The United States Geological Survey mapped them using the United States Navy's own surveys and aerial photographs . The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named them in 1963 after James Hahn, who was a public relations officer on the command staff of the US Navy support units in Antarctica for several years .
