The Hainstrasse 195 property is a residential building in Wuppertal , in the Uellendahl-Katernberg district , in the Nevigeser Strasse residential area . The building on Hainstrasse is a listed building .

history

The building was erected in the first half of the 19th century. The place of residence is already marked on a map from 1824. Until 1864/65 the building was called An der Weisheit , before it was said to have had up to seven different names, including An den Drei Rosen . From 1864 it was listed as a Pfaffenhaus in the address book of the city of Elberfeld and in 1894 the place of residence is recorded by name on the map. The building had belonged to the Elberfeld Catholic community for a long time, hence the name Pfaffenhaus.

A street that leads from Hainstraße in an arch behind the building was called Am Pfaffenhaus on December 24, 1936 .

On October 26, 1987, it was registered as a monument in the list of monuments of the city of Wuppertal.

Building description

The two-story building with a loft was built as a half-timbered construction. It was slated on the gable sides and the front side of the street, the compartment is only visible on the garden facade. The hipped roof has to grove street a dormer that is almost centrally located, the rear western side has two Dachgaubem . The windows and the front door were framed in the classical style. The window on the frontage are equipped with shutters provided. The color scheme corresponds to the Bergisch triad .

... The building is a typical example of the Bergisch half-timbered construction of the time and an indispensable part of the historical building fabric of Elberfeld. It is thus a testimony to the history of the place. ... "
