Haji Nasser Ntege Ssebagala (born November 15, 1947 in Kampala ) is a Ugandan politician.

At the end of 1997 Ssebagala stood in the mayoral elections of Kampala, the capital of Uganda, for the Democratic Party against Fred Iga . He won, but was arrested in the US in 1998 for allegedly carrying counterfeit money. He was serving a sentence in Boston while John Ssebaana Kizito was serving as mayor.

After returning to Uganda in 2000, he ran for the presidential elections in Uganda in 2001. His candidacy was rejected by the electoral commission after doubts arose as to the authenticity of his academic degree from Ruskin College , Oxford .

In the presidential election in 2006 , Ssebagala wanted to run again for the Democratic Party. In the internal party primaries in December 2005, however, Ssebaana Kizito won , so that Ssebagala registered as an independent candidate for election. But a short time later he withdrew his candidacy and announced his support for Kizitos. Instead he ran again in the mayoral elections in Kampala and prevailed against Peter Sematimba (40% share of the vote) with 53 percent of the vote .

One of the wives of the Muslim Ssebagala is the politician Catherine Nabagesera .
