Hal Reid

James Halleck "Hal" Reid (born April 14, 1862 or 1863 in Cedarville , † May 22, 1920 in New York ) was an American actor and writer of screenplays and plays .

Many of his plays were premiered on Broadway.

Reid married 13-year-old Marylee "Mae" Withers in 1879; Their daughter Hazel was born in 1882. The marriage ended in divorce, and in 1889 he married actress Bertha Westbrook. In 1891 their son Wallace was born. The marriage broke up in 1916, and Reid married the widow Marcella Frances Russell that same year, with whom he had another son, James Halleck, in 1918.
