Half worsted yarn

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Half- worsted yarn is a yarn spun from long-fiber wool , similar to the worsted yarn process, but uncombed yarn . The half-worsted yarns usually have volume and are relatively air-permeable. However, just like carded yarn , they tend to pilling when used in outerwear . The semi-worsted yarn is to be classified qualitatively above the carded yarn but below the worsted yarn. Half-worsted yarn is often used today in the home textile sector, for example for tufted carpets or blankets. Related spinning processes are the worsted and carded yarn processes.
