Hall of Fame of the US Biathlon

The US Biathlon Hall of Fame accepts outstanding and deserving personalities who have made a name for themselves in the sport of biathlon in the USA .

The Hall of Fame is located at the headquarters of the US Biathlon Association, and the awardees receive a personal certificate of admission. In addition, replicas will be presented in the regional biathlon centers. The chairman of the biathlon association sets up a Hall of Fame Committee with a maximum of five people to determine new members of the Hall of Fame , which submits its proposals to the Board of Directors . Ex officio , the Executive Director of US Biathlon should be one of the jurors. The Hall of Fame Committee determines the place and time of the acceptance ceremony for new members . Nominations should be submitted in writing to the Executive Director by April 30th each year . Individuals can be nominated who can demonstrate merits as athletes, coaches, officials, supporters and employees of the association in the following categories:

  • Representation of the USA at major international events
  • Contribution to biathlon and its development in the USA
  • Special contributions to the sport of biathlon in the USA that did not come directly from the biathlon in the USA.

The Hall of Fame comprises three categories:

  • Athletes
  • Supporters / organizers / trainers
  • Employee.

In the event of serious violations, people can also be excluded from the Hall of Fame.
