Hall Janemar

Harald "Halle" Janemar (born May 4, 1920 in Vendel ; † February 14, 2016 in Uppsala ) was a Swedish cyclist and speed skater .

From 1938 to 1946, Halle Janemar was one of the best cyclist in Sweden. He was Swedish champion in individual and team time trials five times . He was also twice the Scandinavian team time trial champion. In 1942 and 1946 he won the Östgötaloppet and in 1945 the Skandisloppet , which are among the oldest cycling races in Sweden. At the UCI World Championships in 1946 in Zurich , he was third in the single pursuit of the amateurs on the track .

In the following years Janemar concentrated on speed skating. He started over 500 meters at the 1948 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz and finished eleventh.

After the end of his sporting career, Janemar opened a sports shop in Uppsala.
