history

The people discovered the iron deposits in the community early on, so that today there are several mine sites to visit. The proximity to Dalälven proved to be advantageous here , as the water power could be used to drive the mining equipment.

In October 2007 the new street layout of Europastraße 4 was opened. The route previously ran through several smaller towns and was therefore not a route designed for long-distance traffic. The new route is 78 kilometers long and runs from Uppsala via Tierp to Mehedeby . During the construction phase, archaeologists used the opportunity to dig and excavated many finds from bygone eras.
