from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In martial arts (e.g. judo , jiu jitsu , kickboxing ) handles that fix the opponent on the ground are referred to as grab handles (also holding technique or holding technique ) .

The fighter must not make himself immobile. In wrestling (freestyle as in Greco-Roman) the requirement is also: Both shoulders are fixed on the mat .

Grip while wrestling

The Osae-komi-waza or holding techniques are part of the floor techniques ( Katame-waza ) in Judo . The aim is to hold the opponent ( uke ) on his back on the ground so that he is under the control of the tori and cannot stand up. The shoulders of the uke should have contact with the ground for a certain time during the competition. You can also switch from a handle to a lever or a stranglehold.

Common holding techniques, of which there are again variations, are:

  • Kesa gatame
  • Yoko-shiho-gatame
  • Kami-shiho-gatame
  • Tate-shiho-gatame

Grab bars in kickboxing

In kickboxing , handholds are the control of the opponent by holding on to the stance. In this position, punches and kicks can be performed.

Grips in wrestling

Even when wrestling , you try to force your opponent onto the shoulders. An example is the inner arm clamp , in which the opponent's arm is clasped from the inside to limit the opponent's mobility.
