Hamad Al Fardan

Hamad Ahmed Al Fardan (born June 27, 1987 in Manama ) is a former Bahraini racing driver . He is the son of rally driver Ahmed Al Fardan .

Career

Hamad Al Fardan began his motorsport career in 1997 in kart racing . At the age of 16, Al Fardan switched to the Asian Formula BMW in 2004 . Driving for the Belgravia team, he finished eighth in the championship. In 2005 he switched to Meritus Racing , which had won the championship the previous season, and drove a second season in the Asian Formula BMW. Al Fardan took two pole positions and four wins. In the overall standings, he took third place. In 2006 Al Fardan started for Meritus Racing in the New Zealand Toyota Racing Series and finished 13th overall with a win.

In 2007 Al Fardan moved to Europe in the national class of the British Formula 3 championship . Al Fardan was on the podium twelve times in 22 races. However, he did not manage to win a race. Nevertheless, in the end he was third in the overall ranking. In 2008 Al Fardan drove again in Europe. He started in both German and Austrian Formula 3 for Franz Wöss Racing . Al Fardan finished twelfth in German Formula 3 and seventh in the overall standings in Austrian Formula 3.

At the beginning of August, Al Fardan was signed by iSport International for the GP2 Asia Series season 2008/2009 . Al Fardan only managed to get into the points once and finished in 20th place overall. In 2009, Al Fardan competed in the Asian Formula Renault V6 and won the championship title with four wins in four races.
