2002–2005: Success story of a newcomer
The Amazons project was started in 2002 by three women. Two years later, in 2004, they played their first season in the women's Bundesliga. After a season that was convincing for a newcomer, the Amazons were only stopped by the Berlin Kobras in the Ladiesbowl , the final of the German championship, and thus runner-up. This achievement could be repeated in 2005 , this time one was defeated by the Munich Cowboys Ladies .
2006–2011: Establishment in the 1st Bundesliga
In the following years, the Amazons could no longer build on their successes from the first years. Although they were able to reach the semi-finals of the playoffs in 2006 and 2008 , they could no longer reach the final of the German championship. In 2008 they were first in the northern season of the Bundesliga. Between 2009 and 2011, the Amazons consolidated their position as number 2 in the north, but were subject to opponents from Düsseldorf and Munich in the semi-finals and quarter-finals respectively.
2012: a new beginning
Various circumstances ensured that the league operation for the Amazons was over after only two games. The summer was used for basic training. After a break from training, preparations for the 2013 season began in November 2012.
