Hamburg Golf Club
The Hamburger Golf Club e. V. was founded on January 16, 1906 in Hamburg ; This makes it one of the ten oldest golf clubs in Germany and operates one of the oldest golf courses in Germany in Rissen . The club has been awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf , the highest sporting award in the Federal Republic of Germany.

The Hamburg Golf Club was founded on January 16, 1906 by 29 men. The founding board of directors included Heinrich Albers-Schönberg (1st chairman), Alfred Otto Stammann and Friedrich Traun . On September 2, 1906, the nine-hole course, unit 37, of the Scottish golf professional John Herd was inaugurated in Flottbek . On May 6, 1907, on a golf day in Hamburg, the Hamburger Golf Club took part as one of eight clubs in the founding of the German Golf Association . On the club's Falkenstein golf course , which opened on July 24, 1930 in place of the original course in Flottbek, the German Open was held many times between 1951 and 1999 .
