Hamid Khabbazi

Hamid Reza Kha (b) bzai (* 1973 in Tehran ) is an Iranian tar player and composer.

Khabbazi initially dealt with pop music before turning to classical Iranian music at the age of sixteen. He studied the Radif with Mohammad Reza Lotfi , Hossein Alizadeh and Dariush Pirniakan . In 1991 he founded his first group, Aftab . In 2004 he worked with Ross Daly on productions for the Athens Summer Olympics . With the violinist Khayan Khalor he went on a tour through the USA. He is considered a virtuoso tar player and one of the most important composers of Iran in recent times.
