Hamilton Boyle, 6th Earl of Cork

Hamilton Boyle, 6th Earl of Cork ( February 3, 1729 - January 17, 1764 ) was a British nobleman and politician.

Life

Hamilton Boyle came from an Anglo-Irish family and was the second-born son of John Boyle, 5th Earl of Cork , from his first marriage to Henrietta Hamilton.

He was in the Westminster School brought up and studied from 1748 at Christ Church College of Oxford University . He finished his studies in 1753 with the achievement of a bachelor's degree (BCL).

After graduating, he turned to politics. He was elected to the Irish House of Commons as a Member of the Charleville in 1759 ; the seat he held until 1760. From 1761 to 1762 he was on the side of the Whigs deputy in the British House of Commons for Warwick . From 1762 until his death he held the post of High Steward at Oxford University.

Since his older brother Charles had died in 1759, he inherited his father's title of 6th Earl of Cork and 6th Earl of Orrery when his father died on November 23, 1762 , along with other subordinate titles. With his Irish Earl title was a seat in the Irish House of Lords and with his subordinate British title 3rd Baron Boyle of Marston was a seat in the British House of Lords .

In 1763 he was awarded an honorary doctorate from Christ Church College.

Since he remained unmarried and childless until his death on January 17, 1764, his half-brother Edmund Boyle inherited his title of nobility.
