Handball World Military Championship
The handball military world championship has been held at irregular intervals (every two years on average) since 1982. The 16th took place in 2007. The host is the international military sports organization Conseil International du Sport Militaire (CISM) . In 2009 the World Championship was canceled and has not been held as an independent competition since then . In 2015, the handball competition took place for the first time within the four-year military world games .
So far, the competition has only been for men.
In 1997, when Germany was the host, the World Cup took place in the Bundeswehr sports school in Warendorf .
