The Rieden-Vorkloster sports hall is a quadruple sports hall completed in 2004 in the Vorarlberg state capital Bregenz ( Austria ). It is designed for indoor ball sports and offers max. 1600 spectators. It is also known as the handball arena Rieden-Vorloster .
planning
The planning was carried out by the architects Nägele, Ritsch and Waibel (representatives of the New Vorarlberg Building School ).
The building was awarded the Vorarlberger Bauherrenpreis 2005 in the category of municipal buildings and public spaces.
Technical Equipment
The building covers a total usable area of 4400 m². The sports area can be divided into two or four halls with a central curtain and two transverse curtains. Four extendable grandstands offer 1,200 seats and a further 400 standing places.
use
During the day, this hall is used for physical education at the middle school and sports school in Schendlingen. Outside of the lesson time, the hall is fully booked for the annual training of Bregenz Handball and other clubs.
In the hall, among other things, group matches of the EHF Champions League took place in 2008 and 2010, as well as qualifying matches for the women's handball European championship in 2014 and 2016 .

The hall is the home of the handball club Bregenz Handball (office on the 1st floor), which plays its home games of the Handball League Austria here.
