Šiauliai Trade Institute

The Šiauliai Commercial Institute ( Šiaulių prekybos institutas ) was a business school from May 1, 1939 to 1944 in Šiauliai , the fourth largest city in Lithuania . It was the first university in the Šiauliai district .

history

In 1934 the Klaipėda Trade Institute was founded in the Lithuanian port city of Klaipėda (Memel). Lithuania gave the city Memel together with the Memelland 22 March 1939 on pressure from the Nazi German Reich government in Germany back. In 1939 the Institute of Commerce was relocated to Šiauliai . There were about 250 graduates (degree: Dipl. Handelswirt ). The trade institute was the predecessor of the later Pedagogical Institute in Soviet Lithuania and the Pedagogical University in Lithuania . Today there is the University of Šiauliai .
