Hanlo is a prefabricated house manufacturer based in Schrems (Lower Austria), which manufactured around 600 single-family houses in Austria and Germany in 2012 and was one of the market leaders in the field of prefabricated construction / prefabricated houses in German-speaking countries. In May 2015, the company filed for bankruptcy and was taken over by investor Matthias Calice. Today Hanlo is a brand of ELK Fertighaus GmbH.

history

The company was founded in 1974 by Hanno Loidl in Austria (Graz) under the name "Hanlo Fertighaus GmbH". The foundation stone for the prefabricated house company was laid back in 1969 when the company founder Hanno Loidl was paraplegic as a result of a serious sports accident. His paralysis forced him to rethink, especially with regard to his living conditions. With the help of an architect friend and a prefabricated house partner, a barrier-free residential building was created.

Shortly after the reunification of Germany in 1991 the German company “Hanlo-Haus Vertriebsges. mbH ”founded by Klaus-Dieter Temler and Wolfgang Küchler. Since 1991, the German prefabricated house market has also been served on the basis of the Austrian concept.

In 2011 the founder Hanno Loidl sold Hanlo Fertighaus GmbH to the Green Building Group. Every year around 600 single-family houses in Austria and Germany were built by Hanlo Fertighaus GmbH. With this, Hanlo established itself as a well-known company in the prefabricated house industry.

In May 2015, the company filed for bankruptcy for several corporate companies. Investor Matthias Calice took over parts of the insolvent company.

production

From 2004 the houses for the European market were manufactured with the main customers in Austria and Germany in Freiwalde, municipality of Bersteland in southern Brandenburg . In 2004 the former Willco Haus factory was taken over, renovated and converted for larger production capacities. This plant is currently no longer producing for Hanlo GmbH because Hanlo Germany has not taken over the plant from the bankruptcy estate.

In 2011, the Ziesar prefabricated house production site in western Brandenburg was taken over. After a short renovation phase, the delivery of prefabricated houses also started from this factory. However, this work was only used for a short time. The investor at the time did not succeed in reviving the Libella brand and so this production facility was sold again in 2014.

Since 2016 the prefabricated houses of the Hanlo brand have been manufactured in the Lower Austrian Waldviertel (Schrems), where the company's current headquarters are also located.

distribution

Hanlo operates a large number of show homes in Austria and Germany . The majority of the model houses are in so-called model house parks. This dense sales network is supplemented by additional regional sales offices without a show house.
