Hanna Doose

Hanna Doose (* 1979 in Cologne ) is a German director and screenwriter .

Life

After graduating from high school in Ahrensburg in 1998 , Doose did a social year in Brazil , where she worked with street children from favelas . She then went to the European Film College in Denmark from 1999 to 2000 . She has lived in Berlin since 2000. In 2012 she completed her directing studies at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin with a degree in directing. In 2004 and 2005 Doose did guest studies at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin and at the dramatiska institutet in Stockholm in the editing department.

Doose has received awards and prizes for her directorial work. Her short film "It's possible that I can fly" was nominated for the 2006 German Short Film Award, among other things. Her first long feature film and graduation film from the German Film and Television Academy "Dust on Our Hearts" was awarded the "New German Cinema Award" for best director and best production and the audience award "Tele5 Award" at the Munich Film Festival in 2012. In the same year, the film received the First Steps Award in the "Full-evening feature film" category, and in November 2012 Hanna Doose received the DEFA Foundation's award for the promotion of young artists . "Dust on Our Hearts" started in cinemas across Germany in January 2013 and was shown on television for the first time on July 21, 2013 on ARD.
