Hannah Williams (* in High Wycombe , Buckinghamshire , England ) is a British funk and soul singer.

biography

Williams grew up in a musical household. Her father was a priest and avid musician, her mother took her to the church choir when she was six, where she learned to read music before she could read texts. As a child, she wanted to be an opera singer, but then turned to folk, jazz and rock, eventually ending up with soul.

Williams studied musical theater at the University of Winchester, where he also worked as the creative director of the Foundation Music. In 2012 she released her debut album A Hill of Feathers with her band "The Tastemakers" .

The album Late Nights & Heartbreak followed in 2017 , her band was now called "The Affirmations". The title track Late Nights & Heartbreak was sampled in 2017 by Jay-Z in the song 4:44 on the album of the same name . As a result, Hannah Williams gained worldwide attention. Extensive tours followed.

In 2019 the third album 50 Foot Woman was released .
