The men's row of eight at the 1936 Summer Olympics took place from August 12 to 14 on the Berlin-Grünau regatta course .

Olympic champion was the US eighth. In 2013, the author published Daniel James Brown a documentary novel (about the Olympic victory, entitled "The Boys in the Boat" German  The guys on the boat ), the book was published in 2015 in German under the title "The Miracle of Berlin".

Prelims

The preliminary runs were held on August 12th. The winner of each heat qualified directly for the final, the remaining boats had to go to the repechage.
