Hermann Betschart (born December 19, 1910 , † 1950 ) was a Swiss rower who won two Olympic medals in 1936.

Hermann Betschart rowed at the Zurich rowing club. In 1934 the European Championships took place in Lucerne, the Swiss four-man without helmsman with Hermann Betschart, Max Schuler , Alex Homberger and Karl Schmid took second place behind the German boat. In 1935 at the European Championships in Berlin, the Swiss four-man won with Hermann Betschart, Hans Homberger , Alex Homberger and Karl Schmid. In the eighth , the Swiss boat with the complete foursome took second place behind the Hungarians.

On August 14, 1936, the finals of the rowing decisions at the 1936 Olympic Games were held on the Berlin-Grünau regatta course .
